Senior Navigators (ages 11 and up)

Senior Navigators is for boys and girls ages 11-18 and advancements through the levels are based on experience and knowledge. Through camping trips, hiking adventures, games, activities and community service, children build self esteem, respect for others, and independence. Children take control of their activities through leadership development.

SHADOW

The first level for Senior Navigators. This level consists of introductions to first aid, survival skills, ecology, the Moral Compass and Cardinal Points.

TRACKER

The second level, children learn to find their own path through the paths of others. They go on camping trips, learn more advanced first aid and survival skills, introduced to community service. They begin to learn the requirements of leadership.

PILOT

The third level, children own their path and start to pick their own curriculum from a list of achievement awards.* Continuing to advanced first aid, survival skills and community service, they start organizing events and trips.

NAVIGATOR

The final level. Children become leaders of the meetings, trips, events, and community service. They help younger members advance and work on mastering more of the requirements for the Summit Achievement Award.

 

SUMMIT ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

The  Summit Achievement Award is the highest Navigator honor.  After completing all levels of the Senior Navigator program, a Navigator can continue in the program through a series of tasks, goals and achievements that reflect the Navigator's personal passions, skills and interests.

In addition to leadership and community service requirements Navigators must chose 5 specialty achievement goals.  These achievement awards can be worked on throughout the program.
